Microsoft Press Practice Test Error

So I’m trying to practice for the MCTS Exam 70-536 exam using the practice test that comes with the self paced training kit book, but keep getting this error every time I run it.  I’m on Vista SP1.  Doesn’t look like I’m the only one either.  I sent in a request to the MS people so we’ll see.

I never found an answer beyond using Virtual PC to install it on an XP image I use for development testing.

I got in touch with the software vendor and come to find out this maybe a Vista SP1 issue. They suggested reinstalling .net 2.0. I’ll be giving this a shot shortly.

i have similar problem. i have vista home premium and everything was working fine. today i’ve installed some windows updates and after that training kit stopped working. it still works when i try to run ‘Lesson Reviews’ and it returns me ‘unanticipated error’ when i try ‘Practice tests’. i tried to run training kit as administrator and got this ‘library not registered’ error. i hope that it is still possible to change some permissions somewhere but, as it was alredy was written here, i’m afraid the only one working solution will be to install virtual windows xp and never install any updates on it.

Alex,
The problem is Vista SP1, yes you will need to run this in a XP VM. I would also suggest you get the TestKing version of this practice test before taking the exam.
